We’ll discuss exactly what you’re looking for, and what the song is about, and I’ll create and record a bass line that compliments the other instruments in your track. I especially love to groove!

I record with my Universal Audio Apollo Interface, TC Electronic BH550 Bass Head and my pedal board, which can consist of:

BOSS Line Selector

Digitech Bass Synth Wah

Paul Gilbert Airplane Flange

Sansamp Bass Driver DI x2 (spilt low and high)

EHX POG

EHX BIG MUFF

Bonafide Buffer

With the line selector, I can split the high and low frequencies, allowing me to maintain deep bass whilst adding effects on the treble. I can easily achieve a MUSE or Royal Blood sound with this setup! As well as a very nice clean powerful bass sound being achieved with most things turned off!

I can accomodate all genres/styles, and I also have a 70s Tokai bass if you’re looking for a more vintage sound.

Get in touch and lets discuss what you’re looking for!

Find music theory complicated? You’re not alone! I’ve met many musicians who kept trying to learn advanced concepts before they had even grasped the basics! It seems they were attempting things without knowing what they were trying to accomplish, which is just crazy! If you’re learning something as complex as music, you can’t possibly build knowledge on top of confusion! In this book we gradually build up knowledge step by step, ensuring we have a solid foundation to then progress further. I break each complicated concept into simple bitesize chunks, written in a sequence to maximize understanding.

This book is very much a continuation of my first book, ‘How to Master The Electric Bass’ and whilst the first book did briefly cover intervals, I felt like it really deserved a more extensive section. Whilst the first book taught you how to play your instrument utilising different techniques to get the notes under your fingers, this book will teach you how to speak music and the fundamental building blocks called intervals! Intervals are crucial within music as they are used to construct scales, melodies, arpeggios, chords, bass lines, riffs and everything that has a pitch. These intervals can be played in a multitude of ways which we’ll be exploring throughout the book.

This is the bass guitar book for left-handed bassists! It is for any serious bass player, from beginner to advanced.
Including:

A set-up guide to help you play more efficiently, comfortably and better sounding. There’s also a detailed section on gear, strings, amps, speakers and effects pedals.

50+ exercises with audio tracks, detailing playing methods such as fingerstyle, plectrum and slap!

A dedicated chapter to help you master the fretboard in every key centre, allowing you to expand and eventually get away from box shapes.

A section on rhythm to help you understand note values, metre and playing with ‘feel.’

After getting all the notes under your fingers, we can then put them into context through understanding scales and harmony, where I go through music theory in a logical and precise way that anyone could understand. After this section, you’ll be able to have a conscious understanding of the relationship between notes, making it easier for you to communicate your ideas musically and engage more with the harmony members in your band.

Having been through many years of music education and learning how to play the electric bass, I feel like I’ve been taught somewhat backwards!
I made this book to bring clarity to the confusion of music, made worse by the wealth of information on the internet. I’ve built the knowledge up from the beginning, and I’m teaching you in order how you should be taught. From defining what music is? To explaining the modes from the melodic minor and what chords to use them over.

This book would’ve saved me years of learning if there was one like it when I picked up the instrument!

‘It is a great book for beginners to get into bass playing with a teacher, and it is a very good reference for the intermediate and advanced player for fretboard knowledge and harmony.’ – Roth Academy

This book would’ve saved me years of learning if there was one like it when I picked up the instrument!

‘It is a great book for beginners to get into bass playing with a teacher, and it is a very good reference for the intermediate and advanced player for fretboard knowledge and harmony.’ – Roth Academy
